College Sports Commission Plans Anonymous NIL Reporting System

October 1, 2025

The College Sports Commission (CSC), which oversees NIL Go, is creating an anonymous reporting tip line to flag potential NIL rules violations across Division I college sports, a CSC spokesperson confirmed to Front Office Sports.

Industry voices are already calling it a “snitch line,” reflecting the controversy surrounding the move.

The CSC was created this summer to enforce new rules under the House v. NCAA settlement, which include a $20.5 million annual revenue-sharing cap per school and strict roster spot limits. Through NIL Go, athletes must report NIL deals worth $600 or more to ensure they are tied to fair-market business purposes, not disguised pay-for-play.

But NIL Go has struggled since launching in June, with backlogs, unclear rules for collectives, and only four full-time employees reviewing deals. Millions of dollars in prospective deals have been stuck in limbo for weeks, leaving athletes without opportunities.

With the new tip line, the CSC hopes to rely on the industry to help police itself. More details are expected in the coming weeks, according to Front Office Sports.
